Project Manager – Stone & Temple Projects
Reports to: Director / Head – Projects
Location: Ahmedabad
Job Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of stone temple and heritage construction projects. The role ensures timely project delivery, budget control, quality compliance, and strict adherence to traditional architectural, cultural, and spiritual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Control
Prepare and manage:
Project schedules
Installation and erection sequences
Material procurement and delivery plans
Monitor progress of:
Stone carving activities
CNC production and machining
On-site erection and finishing works
2. Budget & Cost Control
Track and control:
Stone consumption and yield
Carving, machining, and fabrication costs
Labour deployment, equipment, and crane usage
Minimize wastage, rework, and cost overruns.
3. Consultant & Vendor Management
Coordinate with:
Architects and Sthapatis
Structural and MEP consultants
Stone factories, carving units, and CNC vendors
Installation and erection contractors
4. Quality & Heritage Compliance
Ensure construction is executed as per:
Approved architectural and structural drawings
Shilpa Shastra and traditional temple architecture norms
Client, trust, and religious authority requirements
5. Site Execution
Supervise:
Foundation readiness and civil interface
Stone erection, alignment, and jointing
Surface finishing and detailing
Resolve on-site execution challenges and inter-team coordination issues.
6. Client & Trust Coordination
Conduct regular:
Progress review meetings
Site inspections and milestone approvals
Liaise with temple trusts and religious authorities for approvals and compliance.
7. Risk & Safety Management
Ensure safe handling, lifting, stacking, and erection of heavy stone elements.
Identify and mitigate risks related to delays, breakage, logistics, and design deviations.
Required Qualifications
B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Architecture
Postgraduate qualification in Construction Management (preferred)
Experience
10 to 20 years of experience in:
Stone construction projects
Temple or religious structures
Heritage, monument, or traditional architecture projects
Key Skills
Strong leadership and decision-making
Project planning and execution control
In-depth knowledge of stone construction and erection methods
Vendor, consultant, and multi-team coordination
Cultural and spiritual sensitivity for temple projects
