Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Control
Own the end-to-end finance and accounting function across multiple group companies.
Review and ensure accuracy of books of accounts and financial records.
Oversee journal entries, ledger postings, provisions, accruals, adjustments, and month-end closing.
Review bank, vendor, customer, loan, inter-company, and other balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books.
Review financial statements and supporting schedules before submission to management and auditors.
Ensure books remain accurate, reconciled, properly documented, and audit-ready throughout the year.
Monitor inter-company transactions and ensure timely reconciliation and settlement.
Establish appropriate accounting controls and review mechanisms across group entities.
2. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
Take ownership of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable statutory compliances.
Review GST returns, reconciliations, TDS returns, tax workings, and related filings.
Ensure all statutory payments and filings are completed accurately and within prescribed timelines.
Coordinate with tax consultants on assessments, notices, tax positions, and advisory matters.
Review tax computations and support tax planning initiatives.
Monitor changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure timely implementation of relevant changes across group companies.
Identify potential compliance risks and take corrective action proactively.
3. Audit Management
Lead and coordinate statutory, tax, internal, and other financial audits.
Act as the key finance point of contact for auditors and external consultants.
Prepare and review audit schedules, reconciliations, workings, and supporting documentation.
Ensure timely closure of audit queries and observations.
Develop appropriate management responses and corrective action plans.
Strengthen financial controls based on audit findings and recurring issues.
Ensure the organization remains continuously audit-ready rather than preparing for audits only at year-end.
4. Treasury, Banking & Cash Flow Management
Oversee day-to-day banking and treasury activities across group entities.
Monitor cash balances, collections, payments, and funding requirements.
Prepare and review short-term and medium-term cash-flow forecasts.
Review payment schedules and ensure appropriate authorization controls.
Monitor working capital and liquidity requirements.
Coordinate with banks for account operations, documentation, financing, and other banking matters.
Support management in fund planning, investment-related financial activities, and deployment of surplus funds.
Ensure effective utilization of available funds while maintaining adequate liquidity.
5. MIS & Management Reporting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS for management.
Develop meaningful financial dashboards and management reports.
Provide analysis of revenue, costs, profitability, cash flow, working capital, and other key financial metrics.
Conduct budget-versus-actual and variance analysis.
Highlight significant deviations, risks, and opportunities to management.
Provide actionable financial insights rather than merely presenting numbers.
Support management in making informed commercial and strategic decisions.
6. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
Lead/support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises.
Prepare financial projections and scenario analysis.
Develop financial models for business initiatives and strategic decisions.
Analyse profitability and financial viability of new projects or business opportunities.
Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
Recommend corrective actions based on financial performance.
7. Internal Controls & Risk Management
Establish, review, and strengthen internal financial controls across group companies.
Identify accounting, financial, operational, tax, and compliance risks.
Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and approval mechanisms.
Review existing processes and identify control weaknesses.
Implement preventive and detective controls to reduce financial and operational risk.
Maintain a strong governance framework across the finance function.
Ensure financial policies and procedures are consistently followed.
8. Process Improvement & Automation
Continuously review finance processes to identify inefficiencies and control gaps.
Drive standardization and automation of recurring accounting and reporting activities.
Develop and maintain SOPs for key finance processes.
Reduce dependency on manual follow-ups, individual knowledge, and informal processes.
Improve the accuracy, turnaround time, and quality of financial reporting.
Implement best practices across group companies.
9. Management & Business Support
Act as a trusted finance partner to senior management.
Provide financial inputs for business and strategic decisions.
Support business expansion, new investments, restructuring, and special finance projects.
Evaluate financial implications of major business decisions.
Provide insights on costs, profitability, cash flow, taxation, and financial risks.
Assist management in developing and implementing financial policies and governance frameworks.
10. Documentation & Stakeholder Management
Ensure complete and systematic maintenance of financial and statutory documentation.
Draft professional financial correspondence, reports, letters, and management communications.
Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, regulators, vendors, and internal teams.
Ensure confidentiality and integrity of all financial and business information.
Maintain high standards of professionalism in all internal and external communication.
Qualifications
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
5–10 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounting, taxation, audit, or controllership.
Experience managing finance and accounting for multiple entities will be an advantage.
Candidates with experience in Financial Services, Investment Management, PMS, AIF, NBFC, CA Firms, Professional Services, or Investment/Holding Companies will be preferred.
