Job Purpose
The QC Manager will be responsible for managing the complete Quality Control function for incoming raw materials, in-process production, colour matching, batch release, customer complaints, laboratory operations, documentation and QC team management.
The role requires strong hands-on knowledge of masterbatch, polymer compounding and extrusion processes, along with the ability to identify quality deviations and trace them back to raw materials, formulation or processing conditions.
Key Responsibilities
A. Incoming material checks
• Ensure MFI, moisture, ash and colour are tested against the COA for every incoming lot of resin, pigment, filler and additive
• Take the clear-or-hold decision on each lot before it goes to production
• Ensure purchase is informed of off-spec material
B. In-process checks
• Ensure CPG (count program), bulk density, MFI and FPV are run on every batch at the set frequency
• Authorise stoppage of any line when readings fall outside limits
C. Colour and batch release
• Ensure shade is matched on the spectrophotometer against the approved standard
• Ensure appearance (PA) of the masterbatch and of the article (chips or film) is checked
• Approve or reject the batch and sign the COA

• Report monthly on rejection %, rework % and complaints
Qualifications
• B.E./B.Tech in Polymer or Plastics Engineering/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering; CIPET diploma acceptable with strong experience
• 5–10 years in QC in masterbatch, compounding or polymer processing, with 2–3 years handling a team
• Hands-on with MFI, bulk density, FPV, ash and moisture
• Can operate a spectrophotometer and judge color shade by eye, not only by ΔE
• Understands how extrusion settings affect dispersion and colour, so faults can be traced back to the line
• Hindi and Gujarati fluent; English enough for COAs, complaint replies and audits
